Article 9 was developed and maintained by the Department of Economic Security (DES) and The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) in Arizona. Instruction for Article 9 covers various topics, including individual rights and rules regarding teaching safe and effective communication methods, abuse, and neglect.

Direct Care Worker Training and Testing Program. AHCCCS has instituted training and testing requirements for Direct Care Workers (DCW) who provide direct care services (Attendant Care, Personal Care, and Homemaker) to Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS) members residing in their own homes.

Article 9 Training
Training Hearts offers mobile Article 9 Training for groups of 3 or more.
This course is designed for individuals who prefer not to attend a traditional classroom setting or wish to learn at their own pace.
It is a blended learning program, combining online coursework with in-person skill training led by a certified instructor. Although part of the course is completed online, the in-person sessions still fulfill requirements for in-class instruction.
Please note that the online portion must be completed prior to attending the in-person classes.
